Here is a sampling of what the Bible teaches us about prayer:

· The Psalmist urges us to : “call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor me." [Psalm 50:15]

· Jesus, our Lord and Savior said, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.” [Matthew 7:7-8]

· Paul rejoices in his troubles and says: Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” [Philippians 4:6-7]

· Peter writes powerfully and encouragingly: “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” [1 Peter 5:7]
